BAŞ-Arı Foundation

BAŞ-Arı Training, Support, Technique and Aid Foundation, was established in 2018 to eliminate the disadvantages of girls and women in accessing education and employment with 16 founding partners who are from several sectors and different disciplines.The two founding partners of BAŞ-Arı are also the founding partners of EDUSER Consultancy, which has been successful in the consultancy sector since 1997.
BAŞ-Arı Foundation works with disadvantage and vulnerable groups such as children, girls, women, unemployed young people, disabled people, drop outs, migrants and those in need of special care and education without any age limitation.
The Foundation carries out studies in the areas of developing the concept of gender equality, eliminating the disadvantages faced by young girls in accessing education and employment, increasing their participation in economic and social life, and protecting women’s human rights. At the same time, it provides scholarships for girls attending school under difficult economic conditions.
Since today, it has conducted and involved in numerous European funded projects and implemented projects focusing on women and girls in different aspects. Three of the most recent ones were about (i)-combating against domestic violence and capacity building of women shelters, (ii)-Increasing enrolment rates especially for girls and (iii)- prevention of child Marriage.
In line with its founding objectives, BAŞ-Arı is a gender sensitive foundation. The founding partners as well as the volunteers of the Foundation are specialised in project implementation, conducting training and capacity building activities, developing policy and strategy on community-based interventions, training modules, training needs analysis, training of trainers, preparing and analysing training evaluation tools, giving support to development of peer-to-peer girls’ empowerment activities, implementing awareness raising activities, advocacy, etc. for women and girls.
Including the Secretary General there are 6 voluntary staff who are dealing with daily administration of the foundation along with volunteer expert pool with around 60 experts from various areas of expertise.
