Edu-larp to IT User manual for trainers
This manual provides a concise and easy-to-read overview of methodologies, approaches and practical suggestions for using and/or designing educational role-playing games and implementing the “Edu-larp to IT model” tested by PS. It therefore not only contains key elements for using Edu-larp to engage NEETs and/or convey complex or boring topics, or topics perceived as such by young people, but also shares alternatives to teaching, tools and strategies that have been included in the youth support programme to help motivate young people to attend, which are considered functional and impactful. Attached are the two Edu-larps that have been designed and tested, conceived and designed to give young people the opportunity to try their hand at working in a company in order to understand/discover for themselves the importance not only of professional skills but also of personal skills that some are unaware they possess.
Edu-larp ‘Tramas Agency’
Tested in Sardinia on the theme of tourism (launch of a travel agency and its services). It provides context, character profiles and personal and professional objectives for the two groups involved: the first is the travel agency team, the second is Turkish tourists who love slow tourism and are eager to discover Sant’Antioco. The professional objectives of the travel agency team include: promoting the new agency (from creating the logo to communicating on social media), booking services and organising tours. The educational objectives include:
- Business incubator: trying to immerse oneself in a realistic work situation
- How to work in a travel agency: rules, networking, creativity and teamwork
- Learning to work in a team
- Learning to manage stress and accept others (colleagues or customers)
- Overcoming prejudices by working together
- Reinforcing transferable and specific skills related to the roles involved
Edu-larp ‘The Chefs of Ankara’
Tried and tested in Turkey, ‘The Chefs of Ankara’ focuses on the theme of catering (launching a Michelin-starred restaurant and choosing the kitchen staff). It provides context, character profiles, and personal and professional objectives for two groups that must work together to blend the flavours and aromas of two gastronomic cultures. In the kitchen, there is a competition between two Italian-Turkish teams to create a menu that skilfully and elegantly
represents the two culinary traditions, which will be evaluated by an Italian-Turkish jury (from food research and purchasing to cooking). Educational objectives include:
- Intercultural collaboration and communication.
- Discovery of cultures and traditions that are necessarily reflected in the spices and flavours used in cooking.
- Testing one’s transferable skills, from the ability to work in a team, problem solving and negotiation to adaptability to new environments and situations.
- Experiencing real job roles in a real work context.
Video “Edu-larp to IT”
Through its images and content (verbal and textual in three languages), the video is also a methodological guide not only for the use and design of Edu-larp but also for in-depth research into approaches and tools that can motivate young people to take an active role and help support them in enhancing their transversal and professional skills. The video is a manifesto of the beauty of European projects, of the often unexpected impact of the experience on a personal level, and highlights the power of cultural exchange and the natural breaking down of stereotypes and often personal barriers.
It is not only the story of the project but also a lively and intriguing presentation of the two Edu-larps, designed to encourage trainers and operators to use the model and, at the same time, to attract other young people to Europe and the opportunities offered by Erasmus.
Book of Cagliari

This catalogue uses images and comments to describe the Cagliari that Giulia, Alessandra, Miriana, Stefania, Michele, Tommaso and Alessio love.
Through their choices, they show us a city that they know and perhaps love for different reasons, and we can “peek” through the keyhole of their lives and learn something more about them!
The images touch the heart and stir emotions, especially when they represent an experience and/or a moment in life that has left a mark on the subjects.
This catalogue is therefore not an itinerary of Cagliari but an emotional itinerary of the young people in our group.
